When you learn something great in life, it’s becomes greater when shared. I have learned that it’s never too late to change your lifestyle, and if you believe… all things are possible! I will always be grateful to my family, friends, and colleagues for giving me the strength and determination to achieve a big weight loss goal. I feel very fortunate that I was able to figure it out after 13 years and have a brand new life in front of me.

I’ve shared my weight loss story in the hopes to help other people who are suffering or have given up on themselves. I would like you to know that you can do anything! I started my journey in August of 2013 and I am 139 pounds lighter. I have kept the weight off because I continue to keep myself aware and accountable. Of course, I fluctuate up and down a few pesky pounds, but this is real life folks and we still have to enjoy ourselves from time to time. The key to it all is balance and commitment. The way I lost weight was through hard work at the gym, better nutrition, and with a unwavering support system.

I have always been an overachiever in my career, I love my family, and I have the greatest friends, but somewhere along the way I neglected myself. I am 44 years old and I am living proof that it is never too late to start again and be the person you only saw in your dreams! Even at my heaviest, I was never one to lack confidence or self-esteem, but I lacked strength in believing in my ability to lose weight. I was in total denial of how I looked. I hid my pain of being overweight with my bright smile. I love people and people have always gravitated towards me no matter what size I have been in my life. I am the same girl that used to live in that heavier body. The only difference is I don’t do all the sedentary things I used to do. Of course, I eat healthier most of the time and try my very best to do a physical activity every day to keep my mind and body strong.
